Stage 2: Descent into the Shadows (Late Teens - Early 20s)

As I transitioned into adolescence, the desire for belonging and a unique identity intensified. The allure of the unconventional, the perceived ‘coolness’ of rebellion, led me down a path of experimentation that soon spiraled into the darkness of substance abuse. This wasn’t merely a phase of youthful indiscretion; it was a symptom of a deeper fragmentation, a growing disconnect from my authentic self. My academic pursuits faltered, relationships strained under the weight of my choices, and the vibrant world I once inhabited began to lose its color, replaced by the isolating and destructive reality of addiction.
